Initiatives available to employers from YCE at no cost
YCE offers a quality recruitment service to employers. This service can include assistance around recruitment practises, agree and advertise your job vacancy, pre screening of applicants and sifting of CV’s. Issue of application forms, premises for interviewing and assistance with the selection process.
We are able to offer advice and set up work trials which give you and the job applicant the opportunity to try out the job before offering employment.
Voluntary work experience will enable unemployed people to volunteer for placements lasting 2 to 8 weeks for 25 hours per week. These volunteers will be matched with suitable host employers and complete a light touch selection process.
Youth Wage Incentive
You may be entitled to up to £2275 if you employ a young person aged 18-24 for 26 weeks, for over 16 hours per week.
We are able to offer impartial advice around apprenticeships, from recruitment to general information. We are able to ensure that you gain access to the Apprenticeship grant of up to £1500 available to you employing an apprentice aged between 16-24 years. We are able to offer Apprenticeships in Management, Team Leading, Business & Administration, Customer Service, ICT, Cleaning, Business Improvements Techniques and Retail.
Pre Employment Training
We offer quality training to new employees, prior to commencement of employment. This training includes Customer Service, Business Administration, Retail and many more sector skills. We also offer mandatory work training including Food Hygiene, CSCS Qualifications and many more, to give applicants the right skills to commence employment. Funding for training is available to eligible candidates.
We are able to offer work based learning across a number of sectors. This can include NVQ’s for your employees, up to Level 3. Sector areas can include Customer Service, Business Administration, ICT, Retail, Cleaning, Information Advice & Guidance and Team Leading and Management.
YCE have a team of qualified business advisers who provide confidential and impartial business advice and support to existing businesses. Our advisers will visit your employment premises and provide a plan of support that most suits your business needs.

The Skills Support for Redundancy programme can offer you and/or your staff funded outplacement support which includes advice, guidance and re-training opportunities to help prepare for a new job, a new career or business start-up after redundancy.
